Aaron’s Place was established to meet the serious need of day services for young adults who have recently graduated from high school at age 21.  These individuals have a wide variety of special needs and disabilities that often keep them from total independence and from full integration into their community.  
 
Our goal was to establish a program that can provide a full day program ( from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm)  Monday through Friday on a year round basis in order to offer a number of vocational, social and independent living activities and skills for each client.   Aaron’s Place is staffed with a head teacher as well as a number of assistants that work in a one-to-one capacity with each client each day.  

While in the community, our staff and students carry out volunteer jobs, paid jobs and work on many job development and independent living tasks in order to help them come closer to reaching their potential.  

Aaron’s Place carries full liability and responsibility for any and all activities related to our agency.  In addition, we work very hard to maintain a very positive relationship with all community partners.  Our Seattle program has been in operation for 2 years with great success and we have found it necessary to establish a waiting list for our future second site.  

The individuals we serve are unable to venture out into the community alone and would be at personal risk if they were allowed to.  Unfortunately, because of this, many young adults simply stop having any consistent type of integration, vocational activities or social life due to the limited resources available for them.  Many of these young adults live with their families, who must continue to work and have virtually no place for their disabled family member to go during the work day.  

Our program has been able to meet the equally important needs of both the family needing care for the individual with disabilities and for the young adult with disabilities needing to continue to experience a better quality of life and purpose.
